• LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT 2021 FALL CONNECTICUT SHOWCASE Scott LaMountain is a 2024 1B/RHP/2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Keeseville, NY who attends Ausable Valley. Big and strong athletic build, looks stronger than his listed size. Left handed hitter, has a high leg raise hanging load, will get off balance out front at times, has good bat speed and plenty of raw power when he gets his foot down in time and sequences his swing, projects well offensively. 7.63 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has the athletic ability to play some corner outfield as well. Took a turn on the mound, has a rotational high energy delivery with a low 3/4's arm slot, very open at release but repeats his arm action and release well. Relies heavily on a mid to upper-70's fastball, works 2-seam/4-seam with his fastball and the 2-seam has late diving action and almost a change up effect, works low in the strike zone well with his fastball. Occasionally mixes in a soft slurve type breaking ball. Good student. Named to the Fall Connecticut Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
